What is your legacy? What will you leave behind when you are gone? What will people remember you for?
Now don’t get me wrong I’m not about to sit on a metaphorical unicorn, adjust my sparkling tiara, sip a bit of raspberry ice tea (my current favorite tea) and talk about how everybody needs to lead a sparkly pristine no sins perfection-r-us life! I’m not about that, especially because both you and I know sometimes it takes a special kind of someone to do the necessary evil, or to live in the grey zone for the good of…..society? family…no…..family can be relative…. narrow it down to loved ones. Especially where ‘grey decisions’ are made so that food is kept on the table, rent is paid, educational needs are met…so like I said….no unicorn sitting over here.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately of what I’ll be remembered for, and frankly I’m not too impressed with myself. Sure I’ve had a few achievements, I’ve had my education, I’ve had a few art projects but I still have this nagging feeling of under accomplishment.
I was never one to plot down my dreams and aspirations, or draw up a vision board jotting my five, ten or fifty year plan. The reason for this being I am super impulsive! Now don’t get me wrong, I do take about 10 seconds to think things through and analyze various options, but when my mind is made up, I do not linger on the what ifs? After all, life is short albeit long enough for us to learn from our mistakes as they occur, and boy have I learned, but that’s a post for another day. I will probably sit down and write to my young adult self at some point!
Anyway, I digress a little bit and I have been trying to keep this post short and sweet , mainly because the idea behind this post was not to give you a breakdown or give you an ‘idea list’ on how you can make the most out of the life you have. I am not going to present you with quotes, inspirational speeches or anecdotes on this one. This one is going to be as personal to you as it will be to me. Its going to have to be one of those things where you internally reflect, consult with your significant other or loved one or shrink ( The Lord knows I could use one).
Personally, I’m having a conversation with God on this one and I’m re-shaping, re-branding and re-living every single day! My blog is evidence of this re-process! I went back to the drawing board on this one re-thought, re-discovered my passion for writing, creating content, sharing life hacks and D.I.Ys and decided to give it another go!
I still have time to only live once and I intend to do it to the fullest. I will laugh, I will cry, I will dance, I will karaoke (just once), I will perfect my contour and highlight, I will draw, I will cook, I will get healthier, I will create content, I will take photos, I will brand, I will travel, I will sponsor a child, I will help a community, I will blog, I will leave behind something that I will be proud of and I challenge you to do the same!
So with this semi- short post, I welcome you to my blog, to my stories that will be posted, to the life hacks, to the D.I.Ys and to all the impulsive unexpected content that will hopefully be useful and relevant to your lives! Karibu (welcome) to Season Tales And Life Twists!
